Sunset Point
Released 2012
Near Tofino, lying between Cox Bay and Chesterman Beach, is a wind-swept promontory locally known as Sunset Point but recently named Pettinger Point after the original owners of Pacific Sands Resort. In October the first of the winter storms come blasting in to this exposed headland and make for some dramatic days for photographers and those who like painting seascapes. I worked on this piece outside with the wind bouncing my easel so much I finally had to retreat to the calmness of my studio to complete the painting.
