Trespassing On Samuel Island

Released 2015

Samuel Island is a privately owned island in the southern Gulf Islands that lies between Vancouver Island and the B.C. Mainland. The island is about two kilometres in length and was guarded by a diligent caretaker until recently. The high number of fading "Keep Out" signs along the waterfront are still testimony to his thoroughness. The undeveloped sandstone bluffs with their forests of Douglas Fir and Arbutus trees made it a perfect destination for a day of painting by kayak with fellow FCA painter Gaye Adams. I have painted the north west tip of the Island in dawn lighting from memory so there are a few artistic choices made that will make it hard to identify the exact location. Instead of our kayaks I have inserted a classic-looking row boat.

Complimentary shipping is available on all original and giclée reproduction artworks to the majority of Canadian and U.S. mainland addresses. A gallery representative will confirm with you if your order is eligible.
