Kingfisher in Morning Mist
Released 2006
Belted Kingfishers are common all across Canada and the United States. They are seen daily from my floating studio in all months except in mid summer when they leave to nest along river banks or sandy cliffs not found in my local area. This watercolour shows a typical morning in September when the sea surface is still warmer than the night air causing dramatic swirls of mist around the bay.
