Steelhead Trout: Out of the Shadows

I was snorkeling in the Taylor River near Port Alberni on Vancouver Island and was watching several Sockeye Salmon. Out from its hiding place this large steelhead trout came bursting into the scene looking for salmon eggs. The water was crystal clear and the late afternoon light made the pink highlights on the steelhead look exquisite.
