Crystal Cove is the very scenic southern end of tinwis beach near načiks / Tofino, B.C. Facing the open ocean, it has the quintessential west coast mix of rocky islets, sandy beaches and wind-sculpted vegetation. At the end of the day the skies can burst into colour as the sun sinks into the gap between the cloud bank and horizon. Trying to get the accurate colour of the layers of rocks and islets while maintaining the hazing pink glow of the sunset was the trickiest part of this painting.
