In all my underwater works nothing is more captivating than trying to create the feeling of being in a sunlit kelp forest. The giant Lion’s Mane Jellyfish that occur in cold northern waters was the prefect subject to insert into this scene. The trailing orange tentacles add movement and a brilliant colour contrast to the otherwise green underwater world. Although beautiful to watch as they swim with slow pulsing motion, the 40 foot long tentacles can pack a painful sting to divers when they contact bare skin.
